Third eye

Personally I'm confident we can have multiple sensations that are both real and unreal, valid and useless. There are fascinating Third Eye techniques that were taught by the sage Rumi, the Radha Soami and Ruhani Satsang Teachers, plus it is used in Eckankar and it is a method of vacating the body via the Third Eye region using the Audible Life Stream. It is also present in every religion but accidentally bypassed. Rumi called it the Open Secret.

I could see that such sensations could be invalid, but why are they there in the first place valid or not?

It would interesting to hear what others say about this Ven. I am familiar with the idea that when areas of consciousness are opening up, there can be be a feeling of a slight tapping on the skull, but have never really experienced a sensation at the 3rd eye region. I think with this sort of thing, what is important is to eliminate all other possibilities first. Then if there is a real change within ourself, such as deeper compassion and understanding, then maybe there is some sort of awakening going on in the 3rd eye region. My only personal experience is relating to vacating the body via that region and it was a very controlled experience with no other sensations prior or after the experiences. I would be fascinated to hear about any developments that you have.

It is interesting that you mention real change within self, because I have found myself to be more compassionate towards others and being more understanding. This is something I have been working on for a while, I guess this could be a result of it.
