Occupy Together: Reasons for Concern

Authors note:

This is not a conspiracy theory. This is a healthy skepticism derived though critical review of available information in my professional area of expertise. I am more than willing to reevaluate these opinions as more information becomes available.

Observations:

As a graphic designer, website builder, TV producer and direct marketer it is my professional opinion that there is something disconcerting about slickness of the Occupy Together multi media campaign, and the lightning speed at which it was created and delivered.

Now before you shoot me, let me state emphatically that my heart and soul is 100% behind the ordinary people who have taken to the streets, those amazing souls who are strong enough and committed enough to be the change, stand up for us all and get themselves heard on behalf of all of us.

These people should be commended, supported and loved for what they are doing, and it is because of my love that I feel the need to share some observations that leave me with concern.

As I mentioned above it has been my job to put together multimedia campaigns the likes of what we see here for many companies large and small, and I can tell you, to pull off something so slick, so broad with so many different facets at this one seems to have, coordinated to the degree, and all bursting onto the scene as at same time as this has seemed to, is a HUGE undertaking that would take the BEST Agencies in the world months to come up with, not days.

In my opinion it would be impossible under the best circumstances to present so quickly a beautifully branded, perfectly implemented multimedia campaign in the time frame we have seen it happen, unless the creative concept, the artwork, the copy, and loads of the website coding had already been done before.

There is simple not enough time for it to have been pulled together…

Let me give you an example….

On Sept 23 Occupy Together We're busy building the site tonight. Please spread the word and send us information on your efforts in solidarity with Occupy Wall St.

Then on n Sept 24 Occupy Together website is now live! We still have several cities to add: Madrid, Madison, London, Athens, Sydney, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Milan, Amsterdam, Algiers, Tel Aviv, Montreal, Seattle, Orlando, Lansing, & Boston! Please give us feedback as you come across the inevitable new website bugs and please continue to spread the word! We're standing with you Occupy Wall St.

Let me add that the site has killer branding, ready made posters to download, kick ass banner ads, live streaming all of which a Madison Avenue Agency would be proud of.

In fact the retail value of what I am seeing here could easily be hundreds of thousands of dollars had a RFP (Request for Proposal) been submitted in New York itself.

Things got even fishier for me when I was directed to the U Stream channels, and was able to view a perfect “product placement” of a huge Occupy Together banner with the branding intact to ensure brand cohesion. You can even see it for a moment it here again at 1: 09

So then, these led me to wonder how could all of this come about…

For those of you who are wondering also my research led me to the names Move ON, AdBusters, & George Soros. In fact look what Occupy Together themselves just posted:

“If you’ve started seeing Occupy Together in your daily email box as we have, you probably know the word is spreading like a wildfire. The site has recently been linked on occupywallst.org, Adbusters, tweeted by Michael Moore and sent out in a MoveOn.org newsletter. WHEW! Talk about growing exponentially!”

AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO STRESS MY GOAL IS NOT TO DISPARAGE THE EFFORTS OF OUR PASSIONAT OCCUPIERS, it is only to enable us to be more DISCERNING, especially at this time when stakes are high and adrenaline is pumping.

Max Igan makes a wonderful observation

Even if these movements, and even if groups such as anonymous have been started up by people who may not have the most honorable intentions, it is good to see such massive amounts of people being mobilized and I really do believe that even if these groups were started by people with bad intentions

Once this amount of humanity is mobilized then it will be difficult to stop the momentum that such a movement might gain very quickly, there is also the possibility that what we are seeing is a Venus fly trap that will trap all the people who really do care…..there are two sides to every coin folks…. and I reserve judgment/”

Nevertheless he states that

“It is important for you to understand that you can be instrumental in where this may lead, by supporting the people who are making the stand by delivering food water or other sustenance, and even juts by lending your moral support, you can ensure that the type of reality we hoe to create is being created just by your actions. “

This pretty much sums it up for me.

We certainly are blessed to be living in interesting times, and as one of my wisdom teachers stated in The Great Work….this is a battle for the minds of men…so lets use ours properly!

Comment by EL*CHI*MA on October 10, 2011 at 6:48pm: I see this as part of a definate global wave, very similar to the global spontaneous upsurge in the "Summer of love" revolution for peace love & brown rice. Today of couse we are uprising against greed and tyranny. Today though it is not just a bunch of hiippies with the arse out of their collective pants on the front line, today there is more wealth, more, advanced machinery and of course, more disenchanted people. Just as the rainbow tribes uprising succeeded in changing the world view, so to I believe is this current global revolt having a dramatic effect.

Of couse those who seek to maintain the dominant paradigm will employ every means to stop change, every trick from appealing to traditions sake right down to imprisonment and murder. They will fail. Further, if there is any european connection you can be sure it will be slick and proffessional and already deployed.

I suppose if you look hard enough you can see a "gruen transfer" in all media, but that does not prove they emanate from "spin planet inc." Asking serial skeptics if they are skeptical is a biased source for material.I love adbusters, I love any who have the guts to stick it to evil in a non violent way.

I send my love and support to all those brave souls willing to take the blow from an ignorant enforcers baton and not yield their conviction. I hope when the wave arives in Australia there can be found equal courage and conviction of spirit as some of our global brothers and sisters have shown, even unto death. This is a new age remember, you dont get it served up in an icecream cone, you have to instil it into the world, build it by rejecting the old outworn and evilly infected systems , nonviolently and co operatively. This I see happening.

I Have sat in front of bulldozers stopping beach mining at Byron Bay back when I was young, I have stood with the singer Sting in the southern old growth forests in front of cops & loggers, at Terania creek fighting the loggers in the rain forest. So kids, now it's your turn to save yourselves just as we felt we had to save ourselves back then and kick out the old outworn corrupt evil bullshit and start afresh. Stage a high tec takeover.

No one should have to witness a senseless murder, or be submitted to beatings. I cannot even imagine what that must be like. I do think you have found through it all some deep wisdom here, and I would have to agree that with love, respect and compassion things do not have to turn ugly.

I was watching some of the USTREAM live footage of the events, and seeing the frustration within the Occupy Groups at their incapacity for making decisions...and what was going on was clearly persona / ego static....perhaps this is the learning experience we need to mature a little into "grown ups" ": )

Down through the ages, we have been forced to witness and suffer the mindless brutality of evil struggling against a influx of light. Darkness has never succeeded in resisting an influx of new light from the higher realms and never will. As all true rvolutions are of the children, so to this one will succeed as long as they remember the precept to " love one another".

Like the equality of women , The rise of Ying energy in the world, Sexual Issues etc. Moving from the violent emotional knee jerk reaction to a more logical organised action. The over throw of masculine dominance, but not establishing in it's place the extereme of feminine dominance, but true equilibrity. Many chores lie ahead, but as I have said, the exponential increase in the influx of light ( knowledge ) is awakening and enabling youth to share and connect knowledge in a way that will prove invincible to any resistance.
