Kosmoi Noetikon - Light on the Emethachava Teachings

As my own "Ordo Emethachava" is little understood in the world at large and the methods of our work and practices even less so I thought I would assail you all with this small offering, an insight into the teachings and precepts of "Emethachava"

Kosmoi Noetikon, which means Light of the Kosmon
teachings, was given thru a su’is (sensitive or medium): and, though it is
largely symbolical it does no doubt portray a condition of things to come when the
seventh era race is more fully advanced. The three centres of consciousness
mentioned in the opening passage, are no doubt the three psychic centres, one
of which is associated with the PINEAL GLAND and the other the pituitary body,
whilst the third is probably the mysterious psychic centre hinted at by some
occultists and which is not yet active except in the advanced adept. In the
Book of Judgment we read: CH. 39. “They shall have su’is and see without mortal
eyes, and hear without mortal ears. My angels shall appear before them, and
walk with them, talking to them and teaching them of my kingdoms.

The Crown is undoubtedly the twelve signs of the zodiac:
whilst the seven jewels are the planets which are said to rule the signs.
Throughout the symbology points to a time when the race will have attained its
HI-DAN; hence one hour after Noon.

What the Race will be in that day we can but dimly
envisage. We read further in “Judgment”: “And many shall attain to adeptism and
in spirit go out of their mortal bodies and appear hundreds of miles away.”

About the same time that Oahspe was transmitted through
Dr. Newbrough Madame Blavatsky wrote in the “Secret Doctrine,” Vol. 2, p.465:

“The Cycles of Matter will be succeeded by cycles of
spirituality and a fully developed mind. On the law of parallel history and
races the majority of the future mankind will be composed of glorious adepts.”

The prophets have ever spoken of a Golden Age which the
Earth once enjoyed: and, which will one day return as the Millennium. All
through Kosmon teachings the fact that we are preparing for that day is
particularly emphasized.

At the present time it is given to only a few to attain
adeptism, but all can advance the Kingdom
of Light through some
service. In the Book of Inspiration we read:

“That mortals and angels may live and labour in concert,
behold, I have given certain days whereby large congregations on earth may be
met by my organic heavens in reunion, mortals and angels, for the happiness of
both, and the glory of My works.”

To-day we are able only partly to realize this ideal. But
of course the World has passed through a very great crisis. Mankind can but
slowly react to spiritual impulses. But, dear reader, it is for you to do your
part to help the GREAT AWAKENING!

There is a tract in the organ of physical consciousness
which is not yet active: it is the coordinating of three centres which at
present work independently from each other. When these three centres work in unison,
the function of each will blend and produce a forth. This fourth function is
the faculty related with the activity of the higher consciousness, and this
higher consciousness is co-incident with an interior plane of life, of which
mankind in the present period of time, has but little knowledge.

This faculty is akin to what some mystics term
inspiration, yet it is different, because it is the ability to apprehend
through the power of the upper mind, those things which, with the ordinary
methods of thought it is not possible to know fully.

In the New Race, the finer vibrations of the interior
planes of life will become more and more realized and understood. The present
Race is developing the colour-sound sense, and there is a greater leaning toward
interpreting the phenomenal world aesthetically. This greater desire for
harmony, and the abandonment of the tribal-war spirit, points to a New Age
governed by laws of rhythm and harmony. Silently but surely, the world is
moving toward a state of equilibrium, and this is not so much a result of laws,
as the position of the earth in the greater realm of cosmic life. Just as the
tides ebb and flow, so do the waves of spiritual life ebb and flow with no
uncertain measure. It is difficult to understand to what heights the human race
will have attained during the final stages of the grand earth story. We can
look back and note the advance of the human race since the glory of Apollo set his
seal upon it, and man began to unfold towards the god. “For the Great Spirit is
all Harmony and Perfection, abounding in time and in worlds to accomplish all
possible imaginings; wherefore, be ye magnified in conception…..”-

(Oahspe, p. 110).

Beyond the planes of psychic light and shadow is the realm
of supernal glory, the home of the Great Ones of Splendour who are themselves
the light of the Throne of wisdom. They live in harmony with the universe. They
move and have their being at the very heart beat of the celestial spheres.
Their home is the realm of glory and from the planes where they dwell, they are
ever sending forth the power and the glory which shall quicken and make alive,
all that is slumbering within the heart and soul of man. Those who are
receptive can receive this power without a doubt, and in receiving, can live in
the light of the love Adorable. “I have also given man capacity to attain to
know My inspiration he receives from his surroundings. To no other creature
gave I this capacity.”-(Oahspe, p.797?).The spiritual ecstatic without interior
knowledge can receive, and be lifted up, but thrice blessed is he who receives
with knowledge. The ordinary schools of learning have taken us a long way
toward understanding the universe in which we live, but who shall lead us to
understand the world beyond the physical plane ? Reasoning by analogy will help
us, but an inner experience will help us more. If a new faculty awakens which
can carry us into realms of thought at present closed to us, then surely we
shall be as those who no longer see as through a darkened glass. Obeying one
impulse-the throbbing of the Universal Heart-a body of men and women shall
dedicate themselves to service, that Noetikon may be their portion, for only by
expression can the spirit grow. Then, shall come to them, the “light of the
eye”, the knowledge of things as they are, as distinct from that which they
appear to be; and the great outpouring shall find them ready for the interior
light of heavenly wisdom, and they shall walk and talk with God. Being
themselves directed by the powers with which they have become atone, they will
direct the growing Race by the powers of spirit and the laws of the higher
life. Already their numbers are many , and each day sees the gradual
realization of the ancient promise, that moved by the spirit which is of God,
man will turn away from destruction, disharmony and death. Objectifying the
spirit within, he shall walk the earth upright, without fear , sickness or
want, and guided by the angels of wisdom, who in turn will appear in mortal
form and talk with man, face to face. Then over the wide earth, smiling in the
sun, peace shall reign unto the end, which is Adu. It was one hour past high
noon, and the three Chiefs within the temple of the Sun drew nigh unto the
centre thereof . Since before the beginning of the day, they had laboured, each
in his separate place, and now as they clasped each the other’s hand, one said:
“Let us now unite under the perfecting of our work in praise.” Thus with hands
united they stood looking upward, and a great light appeared over the place
where they stood. A light greater then that of the sun filled the Temple, and it’s form was
that of a twelve pointed crown. Brilliant beyond measure its radiance became,
and seven colors, each of which gave forth it’s particular luster, came from
the jewels set within the crown. Thus as the Masters stood enwrapped in wonder,
a Voice spake from the crown saying: “To know me is to know all things. Before
the time when Time began, I WAS. When Time shall be no more, I AM. When Time is
as a scroll that is rolled up, I SHALL BE, I AM LIGHT. I AM CENTRAL. I AM
BOUNDLESS.”

As the Masters with clasped hands stood looking upwards,
the Book of Knowledge was opened unto them, and as they watched and waited full
of wonder, there came to them knowledge of things past, present and to come.
They saw the play of colour in the realm of ether pulsating and rhythmic,
directed and controlled by a still finer plane of ether. Then each colour gave
forth a note, and the tone thereof made a form, and there were in all seven
tones, and seven forms, and yet, there was only one form at last. All things
that lived or had ever lived appeared before them, and each thing seemed to be
produced and governed by one of the seven tones, and everything gave forth a
note, which in it’s turn helped to make up a grand Supreme Harmony; and the
crowning form of all was Man, and Man stood in the wilderness alone, all other
things seemed alien from him, although without them he could not be, for there
was but One Form. Man strove, first moving with the Light, and then against it,
and when he moved in unison with the light, he grew unto beauty, even that of
Apollo, but striving against the Light, he sank and became as the brutes around
him, and suffered pain, disease and death.

These Masters saw also the age of earth was even as an age
within a greater Age, eon resolving eon. They knew the great cycle of four
million seven hundred thousand years, and watched the earth follow the sun and
its family through this grand sweeping circuit; and at each arc of this great
circle, they saw the gods who came, bringing the seeds of heavenly wisdom, saw
them leave, and then Man with his own devices struggling to become as the gods,
and thru experience objectifying his individuality, his power to be. Then they
saw that Man who had struggled upward on the path of unfoldment had now reached
Kosmon, the Age of Wisdom, and that all the earth was brighter then it had ever
been. Now the forms of men were semi luminous, and the vision was active not
only on the earth plane, but penetrated the veil of matter. As they breathed it
seemed as if in some way nature responded, their breathing itself was
different, and the semi luminous orb that clothed them changed its colours as
their thoughts changed. Now it had come to pass that there was no more death.
For those whose life on earth was about to close left the body in trance, and returned
no more to it; yet they were able to return in the semi luminous form that had
shone through the body while they had lived in it. Erstwhile the physical body
quickly resolved back to the original elements from which it was built, there
was no form of decay. In those days, everyone was a contributor to the needs of
all, so that every necessity was provided for and wants were few. Even so,
because henceforth Man lived in the Light, to him all interior harmonies were open,
and the earth life was the beginning of wisdom. Communication between earth and
the planets which were in a similar state of unfoldment was established, hence
the range of physical knowledge was increased. Kosmon Man delighted in
multiplying things of beauty, and increasing the variety of forms of plants,
and the themes of musical expression. Art had truly touched the plane of
transcendence, and born in his inner experience, the artist had found an
unending source of inspiration. Again and again there appeared amongst the
groups of men one in particular whose light seemed greater then that of his
fellows. His words were with power, and he radiated an aura of glory which
named him as a Son of God. So also it had come to pass that the gods had
returned to dwell with men again, and each was a centre of radiant love. They
taught and guided by their superior wisdom the groups of people to whom the had
come. In this Age of Celestial Wisdom, part of the day was devoted to work, and
a part to the observance of spirit expression. The workshop and the temple had
become inter-related. Just as the athlete needs physical exercises, so does the
spiritual man require spiritual observances.

In a body vibrating with spiritual energy no physical
disease could find a lodgement, and physical disorders were ever counteracted
by those living in the Light. Here also it was well understood how the sun and moon,
the planets and the signs of the zodiac, by the interplay of cosmic energies
qualified and conditioned the ether, causing psychic storms and changes of
spiritual light and darkness. So the prophets of those days could well foretell
times and conditions inimical or beneficial unto the Race. The conditions
inimical were guarded against, and advantage taken of those that were
beneficial. The Masters still in unity continued to observe, and beheld the
things that are to be. This maybe difficult to understand perhaps, yet
consider, how difficult it would be to see the things which now are for one who
lived a century ago, unless he possessed prophetic sight. The Masters saw that
in the fullness of the Kosmon Age, when a man desired to visit a distant place
and return there from in a short space of time, he would seek seclusion and
sink into deepest trance. Erstwhile, rising in the semi-luminous body would go,
urge by the firm promptings of his will, to that place, carried on the wings of
his inmost desire. Even as he reached the place, so would he see and be seen by
those to whom he had come with all his faculties acute, as if he were in very
truth functioning as in a physical body amongst them. After all, is not the
physical body but a form in which the man of earth must live, the physical
plane to comprehend; but with a form of finer substance could he not also live
more in contact with the spiritual planes at times? Even so it had come to
pass. In consequence of his broadened vision, Man no longer sought to differ
from his brother in matters of belief or doctrine, since now to all the plane
of understanding was truly open. Even so could each see for himself and see
aright. Then over the wide earth the reign of universal peace and brotherhood
had come; and since one evil thought of hate or selfishness poisoned the sensitive
structure of the luminous body, each one sought to care for spiritual health,
both for himself and his fellow-kind. Each day saw the building of a Kingdom,
and the answer to the Essenes prayer : “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on
earth even as it is done in heaven”. Thus did the three as one observe, and the
hour of high noon became advanced. Then a golden light flooded the Temple wherein they stood, and it was in the form of an
egg, and on the circumference thereof its aura was the palest green like unto
the waters of the river Nile.

As they waiting stood, expectant still, the Voice spake,
and delivered the oracletion, which, manifested in the word of Man, is the
science of illumination, and in the word of God, the revelation of the spheres
of Perfect Understanding. The key whereof being ever the same-the golden
harmony of the souls redeemed thru the undying love. For after all, is it not
declared that the Heavenly Father Who is the One Eternal, is ever the Three as
comprehended in the One, even the summation of the perfect triad, wisdom, love,
power. Then the Masters released their hands and the light within the Temple became normal as
before. So did each one retire to his place, until further service called them
once again unto the uniting in prayer and praise. Ave Emetha-Amen.

To him who readeth herein, it is shown that the organ of
physical consciousness is the temple of light wherein shineth the light of
higher understanding. The three Masters are the three faculties which, until
the high-noon of the Kosmon Era, work separately, but uniting in the hour of
spiritual exaltation, become as one within the centre of the temple, whereby
knowledge cometh to a man even as it is written: “The sum of all Man’s
knowledge is but Man’s capacity to perceive My Light, saith the All One.” Just
as the clouds of the air are produced by the condensation of moisture which
hitherto remained invisible, in like manner, the etherean currents bring forth
a’ji, ji’ay and nebulae, the three degrees of condensation of etheric substance
prior to the making of corporeal world. It is by reason of this that the unseen
becomes seen. Thus we read in Oahspe : “ Just as the material man beholds
corporeal things, so does the spiritual man follow upward the dissociated
spiritual elements of things. “ The process of the condensation of a physical
globe is as follows. Firstly ethe, then a’ji, next ji’ay, nebulae, gaseous
matter, liquids and solids. First a fiery mass, then cooling, and gradually
rocks appear out of the seething liquids. In course of time, life begins to
manifest. This is the first Age of seed-time, and is known as Se’mu.

Se’mu may also be described as the primal manifestation of
life, and it is anterior to the so called physical basis of life, and must not
be confused with any form of physical substance. It is in itself the physical
basis of life, and quickens the physical substance responsive to it. All matter
is sensible, and the more highly organized the form of matter, the more
sensible it is, whether we observe it in the fixed form of crystalline
structure, or the mobile forms of organic substances such as are known to
biologists. Matter is resolvable into molecules, atoms, electrons and protons;
and then, beyond that, to ji’ay and a’ji, which are of an etheric nature and
differentiated only so far as the etheric plane is concerned.

In the cosmos we have a universe subject to cyclic
changes. The earth itself is a living organism, and responds to the changes
occurring in the sun and companion planets. An impulse generated in one, sweeps
through all, adown the mighty stream of vortexian energy which holds them all. The
earth, the planets, the sun, the moon and starry spheres, all partaking of the
One Life, moving and pulsating with an orderly precision. The I am is at the
back of all. The I AM said: “To know Me is to know all things.” The capacity to
know all things is given to Man, and to attain such great knowledge is
obviously associated with the journey back through the planes we have touched
in our descent from the Source of All. The journey back is by transcendence,
and Kosmoi Noetikoi points the way.

The great Life-wave sweeping outward from the inmost
centre passes through the seven planes, and materializes in forms of life known
to man as physical. This great Life-wave follows the law of rhythmic impulse,
and the same impulse produces times of a’ji, ji’ay and nebulae. In the
descending cycle, the human soul passes through those seven planes, and takes
on the conditions of each; this is the subjective moulding of the soul , which
finally enters a physical body on the earth. In the earliest age of Man on
earth, he did not possess the power of ethearealizing his individuality-his
selfconsciousness, and so fulfilled only the function of an Asuan or primitive
type. With the coming of the etherean at the time of the first etherean
descent, the individual soul received the spark of the life eternal, and it
henceforth became possible for him to breathe celestially. Hence after, a NEW
spirit proceeded from the All One, and Man became an inheritor of life eternal.
As the great Life-wave throws down into matter the primal or elementary soul,
it carries with it all the potentials of the planes through which it has
passed. These are locked up as latent powers within it when it reaches the
earth, just as the rose is essentially locked up within the bud. This
elementary soul will dissolve back into the great ocean of soul UNLESS it is
quickened by the spirit that proceeds out from the great All One. But such
dissolution is a slow process, for the elementary soul of an animal persists
after the body is dead always in proportion with its having come into contact
with the human will in any way. From the elements of the animal plane the body
is built ; that is to say, the etheric animal plane, but the quickening power
of the ray of light from the Supreme gives it the transcended quality. There
from, as a man identifies himself with the All One and lives in constant
association with the spiritual planes, he uses this transcending power and actually
transmutes the animal body, which in the Adept, may have become an arch-natural
body. Herein lies an Arcanum which needs the application of the higher mind to
understand fully. So does”….man follow upward the dissociated spiritual
elements of things. “ As he ascends, he receives more fully of the influx of
lifepower in the double vortex, and the latent powers unfolds just as the rose
unfolds from the bud under the influence of sunlight. But since the descending
soul cannot take unto itself an animal body in which to manifest physically on
the material plane, unless it manifests as male or female, it must bring with
it that potency. Yet since all things possess this duality potentially, so does
the human soul, for it is not written, “the All One is both positive and
negative. “ Herein also is an Arcanum, the which to know is to live. Here we
know in part, but hereafter we shall know wholly. Let us ever seek the All
Perfect within all things, then we shall find a Light that can never fail.

it sounds Interesting, even if I have my problems with the "God" Jehova, because the most of the time he act like a human Today jealous, revengefull, and he is a murderer of at least 72 tribes according to the old testament ect., he act more like a Demon than a Loving god.

However I found in my libary a edition of Oahspe from Anno Kosmon 34(1882) and I never read it, because until today it sound to me like just another book from " Jehova" (or jehovi like the oahspe called it) like the Book of Mormon for example. Beside the fact that it was channeld through automatic writing to John Ballou Newbrough who claimed that it was happend to him. It is always difficult to know from which source such a Messages come from.( every little spirit like to playing GOD)

But gautama means america? or Budha( or did he mean Bodhi?) wisdom and Knowlege? why those people who studying the tangyur / kanyur or the termas ect.don´t mention that because they don´t know? Or a Druk is an evil men where druk is in Buthan a dragon and the Drukpas a buddhist linuege and Drukpa Kunley a Saint. Osiris a Philosophy? One who maintains that only what can bemeasured or weighed is real knowledge.( That is not true in terms as the Ägyptens see it.The sun is the largest, therefore, the SUN IS THE ALMIGHTIEST thats also has nothing to do with the teachings of Osiris.Osiris is a god.( what about the saying of jehove there is no other god then me?) Or the false god osiris who inspired the buildings of the pyramide ect all of that sound to me that it contains at least some of the own Ideas of John Ballou Newbrough.and if that really the case how much of the rest is also from Himself and how much from is  from his his so called "GOD" ?Why should a being that is beyond time and space beyong that universe pick up in the whole universe with all the countless sentient beings this planet in this time this man to be his messanger( beside what Jeheshua said about the end time and books that will be written. Okay enough.

All that sound very strange to me so i don´t understand it yet. But I respect you as an high adept and in this I will start to read it at first and if it somehow reasonable study it. So if i have question on this can I ask you? or is this Blog just for information to your order? Please let me know . Thank you.

By the way NOW i know what a faithist is.( in terms of the OaHspe)

FAITHIST. One who has faith in Jehovih being over all, and within all, to a wise and definite purpose. One who has not faith in anything but Jehovih. One who endeavors to make himself in unison with Jehovih by doing good unto others, and in striving to put away self-gratification. A non-resistant. The opposite from Uzian. (So it is said in the book called Oahspe)

blessings...

From
the above it is plain and clear that you have no idea of what a faithist really
is. ApparentlyYou also do not understand that in faithist terms Jehovih is not
a god. You are evidently not familiar with the personal story of John Ballou.
You will find that faithists are well aware of the difference between a real
god and a false god, we are after all  spiritualists in daily practice, not mere "
channellers" as you suggest. There is a great difference between an adeptus
venturing forth into the planes of spirit and that of an overshadowed channeller.
The word Gautama is at least 24,000 years old and it's original meaning was I
believe Freedom, in our context it meant " land free of god worship" which
has become the word liberty today. Therefore in the context of the Budha we may
say that he attained gautama or freedom or liberation, freedom from the worship
of gods. But these events and words are thousands of years apart. non the less this
is the lineage of the word according to  faithist
teachings .

You are confusing yourself with language that
has nothing to do with such words as druk and druja, again these words come
from a language older than sanscrit. Just because a fragment shows up in some
language as part of a whole new word thousands of years later is meaningless.

My
blogs are offered as they are and for what they are worth to anyone, They are
not attempts at engaging in a meaningless debate about nonsensical concepts. I
do not seek admirers nor ticks of approval from those who assume to know
better. We all will increasingly assume to know better in the coming times, we
will all be full of it. I would recommend less debate and more study. Show me
your works not your words, academic argument is nothing before the actual
performing of works. Children argue vehemanantly against their parents wishes,
not having the knowledge of their parents they are ignorant of greater knowledge.
There is no difference in any religion, they all must tell the same story or
else they are false. In this world all religions tell the same story, of the
one true creator, the great spirit. Then they set about squabbling over names
based on their own language, rejecting all others as wrong each unto their own.
Faithists do not worship gods, they kill nothing, they do not eat the flesh and
blood of innocent creatures, they do not war on their brothers, killing their
women and children.

And
finally, faithists are not a mythical concept of the "new age", there
have been tribes and nations of faithist down throughout the ages. In this day
they exist as remnants of a few millions throughout the Earth, bearing witness
in full faith, of their long suffering allegiance and love of only the great spirit
or the one true creator. Many others also profess this in words but deny it in their
works.

thank you for your advice on that. As I said It sounds interesting but as i never heard of it I don´t understand yet. All the words and Explanation mentioned above i got from the book Oahspe also the explaination of a Faithist. Yes i do not know much of the Life from Mr.John Ballou Newbrough( nearly Nothing I´m just getting started). How could I if I heard about him the first time? So I never proclaimed to Know or understand the Concept of it.

I don´t want to suggest anything, it was just my Thoughts on it( and as I´m unfamiliar with this topic it is normal to make mistake) because in our days there indeed many people who channels nearly everything and I´m always questioning this Kind of Information, but I never deny new Knowledge I just have to go familiar with it to understand and made my mind up on this. The Only thing i can do is learning about it (what i do )it is funny enough that I own this book without reading it until today.

I am not an admirer of you or you Blogs ( i just like you and appreciate that you share you Knowledge, even if it seems that you don´t care) I do the same, as the most people here in this network do. If i sound to know it better it is NOT my intention. I ´m just write what I m thinking of some topics either it is your blog or someone elses . Doesn´t mean that i´m always right or that I´m always wrong. It is as it is if i´m wrong  as you showed me for example in this case, fine i did learn something new. It isn´t about argue against something, Questioning is for me one way of learning. and also to debatte (only because someone say something doesn´t mean he is right) in the exchange of an debatte 1) everybody can make his viewpoint clear 2) so that it is also a wonderful way to learn (as the tradition in buddhist monastry proof) I always thought that the exchange of Information helps to learn not the proclaiming of knowledge. i´m not a stupid follower i´m a Questioner someone who thinks about those things he hear or read so it is normal after listening or in this case reading that I have to say something or have some question. ect.

Please don´t forget that english is not my motherlangue as I mentioned before so maybe I use terms or words somehow wrong, so please don´t take anything as an insult. as I said i wanna learn things i don´t know and give things i do know. On this net here it is all about WORDS because I can write or put videos on this network and In this way I show what I do and what I learned and that is the same with you or everyone else here.( if  you´re an adept it would be easy for you to SEE me on the Planes and if you do that you would know what I am or what i am not, so i don´t have to proof anything. If i´m a hoax i´m a hoax If not I´m not it´s up to you to decide that. If i´m worthy your time fine I´ll be happy maybe we can learn from each other, if not it would be sad ,but i´m not gonna die on it.

Sometime it is good to know when one should be harsh and when to have patience.

So at last let me say I appreciate your Lesson thank´s a lot.

your Jolly Jester ;-)

I was just checking if you had a sense of humour, not trying to be harsh Dont I. see you on the Astral plane? Of course, skrying is like flying, eagle eye in the sky. Faithists are a strange bunch, they have never made worshipfyl any god name at any time in history. Faithists do not "worship" the Creator, they build no churches, instead Faithists seek to emulate the Creator, who by continually giving of himself brings forth all of creation and by his benificence sustains all continuously. Faithists believe it is in the absolute abnegation of self in the doing of good works unto others without thought of reward, that one advancxes ones spirit. Faithists do not believe in going down on bended knee and asking forgiveness from a vengeful god because of some supposed original sin. Faithists stand proud to be sons and daughters of the creator, proud to become eventual brides and bridegrooms of heaven. Faithists are non resistors, they do not engage in war, it is a historical fact that down through the ages Faithists in the great Creator have been systamatically slaughtered and persecuted by thos who come proclaiming god names and establishing those names in the spilt blood of Faithists who refused to submit to these imposter gods. These same imposter gods who are at this very moment engaged in a war to the death with each other both in heaven and on the Earth Amongst their mortal slaves, as was fortold in even the so called Kristian bible in the book of John the Visionary propheticos.

THE LAND OF SHALAM
By K. D. STOES

A Strange Experiment in Child Life

TAKE the babes the world will not have to a place the
world will not live and I will make of it a land of peace
and plenty."
So directed the oracle, a strange command, amazingly de-
creed. There was no previous retirement to the silence of
lonely mountains ; no struggle in desert vastnesses ; no burn-
ing bush nor serpent's rod preceded this 19th century in-
junction. Instead the pronouncement the Children's Land
came to a man seated at a typewriter in New York City. But
behind this Moses of the 1880's, as behind the Moses of Sinai,
there lay years of study, meditation, and prayer.
There have been experiments in communal colonies for
adult life in the United States ; but there has been but one
for cast-a-way infants, orphans, and unprotected children.
Today the silent ruins of the Children's Land of Shalam in
southern New Mexico is all that is left of a colossal venture
in child life which was begun in 1882 by Dr. John Ballou
Newbrough, founder and abbot of Shalam, Jehovah's King-
dom on Earth.
In New York's slums some eighty years ago Dr. New-
brough experienced a vision of the world redeemed through
foundling children. Psychic control led him to found a chil-
dren's colony near the village of Dona Ana on the Rio Grande
in southern New Mexico, a desolate region which had echoed
but lately to the war cry of the Apache. Almost a million dol-
lars were spent in one of the strangest adventures in com- munal living ever recorded. Some features were beyond the
limits of human credulity. That the colony escaped little more
than local publicity was due to its situation in the remote
Spanish-speaking section of the United States; and to the
desire of old New England aristocracy to clothe in silence the
humiliation of defeat.
Dr. John Ballou Newbrough, spiritual sponsor of Shalam,
was a man of commanding presence, six feet four inches in
height, tipping the scales at 270 pounds. His large hazel eyes,
broad forehead and sensitive mouth and chin bespoke the
dreamer. Though a man strongly vigorous and of regnant
poise, his manner was gentle and softly polished. His was a
personality of rare proportion, and possessed of such magne-
tism that even his enemies and those who ridiculed his pecu-
liar beliefs felt strangely drawn to him. All of which had a
direct bearing on the Children's Land.
He was born June 5, 1828, in a log cabin near

He had neglected his practice ; his purse was lean. But, in
answer to prayer, an anonymous gift of $2,000 "for your
good works" reached him through the mail. Another bequest
of $3,000 came from a man whose son he had treated through
a dangerous illness. A roll of greenbacks was left at his door
by a recent convert to spiritualism. Who could doubt the
presence of ministering angels? A press was purchased, and
the modern bible of Oahspe was printed by an association of
seven converts whose names were withheld.
The responsibility of the revelation of Oahspe fell more
heavily upon the Doctor as he worked toward the actualiza-
tion of Shalam. He avoided people and fasted and labored
with an intensity disregardf ul of purse or self. He lectured
in New York City and London in temples which his eloquence
had helped to build, and practiced the extraordinary rites
and ceremonies as set forth in his modern bible. It was on
the evening of October 20, 1882, that a number of people
were assembled in his home to hear a review of Oahspe.
Subsequently a considerable group of converts established
themselves at Woodside, New Jersey, and the fortunes of
several disciples of the Doctor went into this socialistic ex-
periment. It failed, but the leader, with fanatical zeal,
gathered the personnel together at Pearl River, New York ;
and now they were nearer Shalam than they knew.
One morning soon after the publication of Oahspe, one
of a family of America's most distinguished Quakers, just
returned from Europe, entered New York's leading meta-
physical publishing house to inquire what was new that was
worthy of thought. The publisher replied: "There has re-
cently been printed a most amazing Bible called Oahspe. It
has created a great sensation, and is receiving the very
interested attention of the press."
Andrew M. Rowland, a scholarly Quaker of Haverford
College and Harvard University, heir of a vast whaling in-
dustry, and a member of the wool firm of Rowland, Luce,
and Manning; double first cousin to Hetty Green; and de-
visee of the residuary estate of Sylvia Ann Rowland of New
Bedford, Massachusetts, bought a copy and sat all night
reading, reading. He invited the author to visit him at his
hotel, and there was formed a friendship strong enough to
outlast life ; to carry over after death.
The following Sunday Mr. Rowland sat spell-bound under
the eloquence of Dr. Newbrough, and became a convert to
the tenets of Oahspe, the most fantastic religious and literary
tome of a century a new bible for a new age.

Be it understood Dr. Newbrough was no hypnotist; he
catered to no travesties ; no decoys baited him. And Andrew

was no guileless visionary. Instead both were men
of the world, students of life's meaning educated, cul-
tured, traveled, sophisticate. And both were in deepest truth
mystics and reformers. Oahspe was their spiritual inspira-
tion. The Children's Land as outlined in Oahspe had become
their dedication.
The word Oahspe, meaning Earth, Sky and Spirit, is of
Paneric derivation and traces back to the continent of Pan
lying submerged between the islands of Japan and North
America. The first edition of Oahspe printed in 1882 numbered 3,000 copies and was sold out immediately. Spiritualism was very strong at this time.
Briefly, this modern bible is the most incredible feat of
automatic writing of record. The labors of an Ezra were
small compared to a review of Oahspe at the dawn of the
20th century. The style is Biblical ; some parts follow history
closely. It is admittedly a revelation for the modern world
and emancipation from the dogmas, creeds, and cults that
have long warped the spirit of man. It carries no twaddle of
hero-worship to divert; instead it freshens faith into the
victory toward which men climb. Granted a belief in the
immortality of the soul and the existence of brother and
sister souls thousands of years departed this earth, spirits
recorded from the Genesis of Jewish theocracy to the blast
of the Seventh Trumpet of the New Testament, why a skep-
ticism if they break the silence to later generations in answer
to prayer for Light? Angels admittedly have always been
about ; are still a part of religious ceremonial.
There was at the Nativity a host of ministering angels
broadcasting the message of "Peace on Earth, Goodwill to
Men." There was St. Michael and All Angels ; the angel that
rolled the rock away and hundreds of recorded evidences
of the presence of ministering spirits. Kings and nations
have stressed a belief in Jeanne d' Arc. Wireless communi-
ques heed neither distance nor solidity nor time. Certainly
the power of man's spirit is not bound by the senses; and
why not a new faith in the spirits of men departed? an
interplay of the patterns of life and death. A member of the
Masonic fraternity has stated to his brethren : "Whether or
not the fact that Dr. Newbrough was a Mason or had any-
thing to do with the philosophy propounded in Oahspe I do
not know. But within its pages I have found more Light on
what I would like to consider true Masonry than in any other
book or Lodge during my quarter of a century of seeking
further Light."
Substantially Oahspe purports to be a sacred history of
the higher and lower heavens for the past 24,000 years, to-
gether with a synopsis of the cosmogony of the universe;
the creation of the planets ; the creation of man and unseen
worlds ; and the labors of gods and goddesses in the ethereal
heavens. It carries new and altered words ; it adopts Paneric
words, as well as those of Chinese and Japanese derivation.
Light, heat, and magnetism are treated as one and the same.
The laws of gravity, polar magnetism, and capillary attrac-
tion are challenged by the Elder Brothers in Paradise.
Actinic energy is heat.

The higher ether is held to contain minerals, gasses, and
utilities as yet unknown to scientists and astronomers. Vor-
texian currents, personal and national cycles, laws of color,
sex determination, and rules and design for those who would
prophesy are propounded.
"There are etherian world, habitable both within and
without; there are atmospherean heavens given unto the
keeping of thy God. Laws that were good yesterday are
worthless today. The lawyers have not lessened the rascality
of the wicked, nor have the physicians lessened sickness on
earth. What healed the sick yesterday, will not heal tomor-
row. Religions that were good for the ancients are worthless
today. Philosophy that was good yesterday is folly today.
"We pray, but not one of us puts forth a hand to accom-
plish what we pray for. . . ."
Oahspe relieves the creator of all theological encomium ;
or useless tirade. The Infinite has no favorites among his
children. There are no labeled Christians no segregation
under the banners of Brahma, Buddha, Confucius or Christ ;
no call to Israel, Mecca or Calvary.
Oahspe makes no boast to inspiration ; instead it asserts
that its tenets have been revealed to many mortals. It does
not shock the common sense unless teaching how to hear the
Creator's voice, and to see his heavens in full consciousness
while still living on this earth, is an offense.
In the Book of Man there is the cry for Light. Oahspe
values "Liberty first to all peoples ; then discipline and harmony." It pictures thousands of spirits as victims of wrong
government; it portrays, as assigned by the Creator, a vast
protecting host to Washington, Jefferson, Hancock, Paine,
Franklin, and Carroll in the struggles for freedom of government. It carries the sting of irony anent behavior, government, and war.
No attribute of man is boasted over that of beasts and
creeping things, except the power to destroy.
"I cannot live in the harmony of the bee. The half of my
offspring die in infancy ; the multitude of my householders
are quarrelers ; my towns are filled with fighting and drunk-
ards and beggars; my sons and daughters are less faithful
than the dog. For one rich there are a thousand poor, while
there is plenty for all.
"All religions have not raised one righteous city because
the state is rotten, and the politician feedeth thereon. Be-
cause society is rotten the lawyers and courts have riches.
Because the flesh of the people is rotten the physician findeth
a harvest of comfort.
"My wars accurse the earth with starvation, sin, and un-
timely death. By the cunning of my words I have taught
youth that my foreign brother is inferior, and an enemy ; that
to fall upon him and destroy him is patriotism. To generals
who show skill in killing I build monuments, and inscribe
upon them bloody victories ; to my colonels I give badges of
gold. I call to the damsels, saying: 'Come, a great honor I
give you ; you shall dance with the officers of death/ I build
colleges for the training of bloodshed. I whet popular pride
by saying: 'See what fine standing armies we have/ But I
say unto you no Lord or God shall ever be established

Thank you for this famos insight. This all sound really good. But before I say anything more about it I have to read, (do my WORK) ;-) afterward I will ask. It challange me in many ways, even to read It( because as a practioner of the Buddhist teachings i was taught by my beloved Rinpoche there is nor selfexciting permanet Soul,no creator God ect. The great spirit at last are we, as we´re the emanation from him, to accept a Everlasting soul means to break my Vows of Sight. You will understand that in my point of view I have to be carefull  what to accept and what to deny) but as i said I never deny new Knowledge so I will work on it. How did you´re wife solve this Problem?( if that is to personal for the open it would be nice if you could get over your habit not to answer Mails and help me to solve that problem)

I have a lot of humor but as i wrote, if it come to the nuances of Humor I´m sometimes lack of understanding because of my less experience with this Language. So sorry if i´m get you wrong and I´m glad you understand that.

So my dear friend that´s it on this topic for me now.(but be sure I will ask you on it again after I read the OaHspe (Cool I ´d learned something really new I know the meaning of an word of an ancient or heavently language now because of you. Thanks for that ) ;-)

Blessings....
