More UNITED than we realize!

Experts Wanted!!! Merkabah

In another post, the topic of Merkabah / Light bodies came up. I was wonderin if someone could answer some questions.

1. Have you or do you know of anyone who has had a genuine experience of this.

2. In modern times, who resurrected the idea was it Drunalvo Melchizedek, or is there another recent person/ group who brought the idea forward? Yes, I have seen some of the old information relating to Ezekiel and also in some of the Jewish traditions. I'm interested in the recent resurection of it.

Comment by Tony Hogan on August 1, 2009 at 4:07am: Of interest. This symbol here Flower of Life reminds me of the symbol Tauma by George Hunt Williamson's group in Arizona in 1952. But the curl (tongue / spiral) is back to front and the triangle is placed differently.

Comment by Ven. on August 1, 2009 at 7:04am: I know someone who claims he has. Believe me, when this guy speaks Torah, you feel a cloud around him. It's amazing and at times overwhelming. It actually entails years of study, dedication and of course that you are chosen for it. It's a higher form of revelation, I do not know if others seek to achieve it.

I read Gershom Scholem's book on the subject, his lecture in "Modern Trends in Jewish Mysticism," and Maimonides "Guide for the Perplexed" (which contains a number of Neoplatonist and Merkabah teachings) but that's the extent of it.

I tried to pick up Drunvalo's "Flower of Life" and even though I really liked the illustrations I couldn't get into his writing. I think it may have been because his method comes across as being only tangentially related to the original source documents so as to really just be another system entirely that uses the name "Merkaba."

Although I do think it's a real sign of the times that for all of the rabbinical provisions that discourage the open teaching of this material that there's a whole cottage industry dedicated to promulgating something similar in weekend intensives.

I acheved this sort of on accident but used it while in meditation and could feel it around me for quite some time. I have had trouble going back there, Im not in the same place I was in.

Remember RKB means ride, RKBH means vehicle, and MRKBH means having the quality of a vehicle or Throne Chariot. We ride forth with scripture. It is the vehicle for our actions, words, and thoughts. We thereby attain the personality trait of a vehicle. Our metaphysical experiences along this path will confirm what we need confirmed in the way that we are ready for. To say with absolute certainty, that our experiences that transcend wishfulfillment visions are like any other is not something that can be said. A true match will be explained through thoughts and words that are the best way to explain them. If the other individual had that experience, they may not be using your terms and phrases.

It seems to me that merkabah mysticism is more common in Al Mooslimen than in Jewish circles, as it has always been linked to the teaching of Prophet Moohammad. There has been a constant chain of Jews practicing it, since atleast the 1200's C.E.

A far as Melchizedek:
The Aramaic origin of that term MLK TzDQ , means King Righteousness, Kingdom of Straightness, and Counsel of Jupiter. This is derived from a similar Egyptian Hieroglyphic phrase about the ruler of a Place Called Peace. This is mentioned in a fragmented text dated between 2200 and 1700 B.C.E. followed by a cult called Bak Ntjr Wae (Servants of One God). They mention a prophet called Ib-Ra-Heem who came over a score of generations before them.

Comment by Jaefar S.A.B.N.W. on August 2, 2009 at 1:39pm: I neglected to qualify a couple statements. There have been Jews practicing their form of vehicle meditation. I mentioned MLK TzDQ because he as the leader of Sharmae (Jerusalem), was one who had that quality.

Comment by Tony Hogan on August 2, 2009 at 6:14pm: I'm fascinated by this because we a born with a complete light body which enables us to travel. This light body also allows us to travel with another being encased in it . I know this to be a fact because when my son died in 1999 I entered the Bardo, met him, traveled with him beside me and as we moved through different phases (states/ dimensions/ worlds) he was wrapped inside my light body for a number of hours. But what I'm hearing here (I think) is that as a general rule that people need to develop a body, almost like wrapping layers around their Spirit Being to move through other worlds... or is what people are implying is the need to create a finer body to step into the next phase of humanities development to allow inter stellar travel?

This is interesting thankyou. What I'm fascinated by is the fact that I have the ability to travel in and out of the body, bypass what is generally known as the astral but I don't do any of these other things that you speak of. I guess that is the nature of the Sound Current. Although you spoke of the Sound Current in the other post, are you familiar with the Sound Current technique in the form a high pitched resonating sound that vibrates in the middle of the head, sounds like it could be coming from the right hand side, when followed it takes you beyond ... like beyond beyond. And if so, in what tradition did you locate it and what is the exact practice?

I used other techniques for years at the 3rd eye region, and when I went out at that point it was like he night sky was peeling back or inverting and getting wider, or as if I was turning inside out. But when I used the Shabd, it all changed, it enabled me to go deeper and deeper and bypass much of the phenomena and also many of the other states on the way in.

I will post the experience I had with my son at some time in the future as I think it would be of great interest to those involved in psychic research.

Deva, I will go over your posts at some point soon to try and put all the pieces together. As I am coming from another angle I wish to make sure I have your terminology correct as there are many things here that I am unfamiliar with.
