Comment by Jaefar S.A.B.N.W. on March 19, 2012 at 12:04pm Aside from the fact that the High King or Ard Ri bit is said about Ireland only after ruled by Christians; we can think of the legends of
The lower right is the Prince of Water the symbols seem to tie to Lugh, God of Light who is worshiped with elaborate ceremonies of music. This is not the case here. We hear the story of Aonghus Og or the God of Love who found his love as a sawn amoung 150 other swans swimming on Loch Bel Dragon Lake the first night of the dark quarter of the year (Samhain feast). It represents how God can manifest his attribute of love in seemingly impossible circumstances.
In the upper right is the Fire of Water or Ard Ri of Uisce. This here is the depiction of Manannan Mac Lir. His horse was said to be able to travel anywhere over land or water. His boat was said to know the thoughts of humanity and could travel wherever one wants. The boat of dreams and visions, perhaps? Either way both were said to be gifts to Lugh Lamfada. The God of Light who had the story of a mortal imposed on his myth is very fitting as being over knowledge, soul travel, dreams, and psychedelic experences. The horse idea is similar to birds or steads, usually called names like Breath, which were Light Beings sent by God to carry the current prophet on exceptional journeys. As a physical phenomenon the white crested waves were called Horses of Mananan and Cuchulain was said to have been forbidden to see them as that indicated the daily death of the Sun in the West (sic). Lir (Sea) or his son Mananan (From the Isle of Man) is either just a personification of the sea or God over the seas, emotions, thoughts, and death. Mananan was thought to be the throne of Mac Lir or Lir by the Irish who saw it from afar.
In the upper left hand corner of the painting underneath we have number seven; which is Carbad na an Morrigu Anand meaning Chariot of the Mare Queen of that joy without which the Whole Universe Would Fall Apart. King Conary knows od her as of Death and Destruction and saw her in a form of an old woman who prophesied of his death followed by his corpse being picked at by birds. At the hostel where the king is in this story a man named Ingcel spies on what is going on there and relates it to the Sons of Desa, enemies of the Picts. Therefor it is a symbol of being aware from the vehicle, the vehicle of our bodies (physical, astral, causal, mental, etheric, and soul in some ways of thinking). We are beyond the time and space of these bodies (physical, mental, emotional, and will in other ways of thinking.
