I am deeply involved with the study of Paul Foster Case's works on the Tarot.  They are all facinating to say the least.  Does anyone else ever read or study Case's work?

Most people don't like to mix magick, especially tarot, with a bible but has anyone taken the time to match each major arcana card with it's corresponding Hebrew letter? Found in biblical description? Use Psalms.119.

The TAROT is a take on the 22-letters of the Hebrew Alphabet for this is merely the MAJOR ARCANA: however, the MINOR ARCANA is a commentary on the Twelve houses of Zodiac (Court cards) and their 36-decans (pip cards).  Then you also have the four elements (Aces) and their opposites, which are represented by the four Knaves.

In my analysis on the Sistine Chapel I found that there were initially 32-popes, which coincided symbolically to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which represents the numerical digits and the 22-letters of the Hebrew Alphabet.

In the ceiling I demonstrate that the 12-signs of the Zodiac are represented by the five Sybiline oracles the seven prophets.  The 36-decans are represented by the ancestors of Christ.

It is within the many representations of the Tarot Cards esoterically cloaked that when all are studied as different nuances of the same system that a larger understanding of them can be grasp.

Astrology and the Tarot Cards and other art works that represent them are not just pretty art works.  The initiate must meditate as to why the different categories of data in each system.

For example the first chapter of Genesis has three major parts.  The first two verses have 21-words (except the first word is down into two words) representing the 22-letters of the Hebrew Alphabet.

The first four days of creation have 207-words, which in Gematria is the numerical value of LIGHT or the revelation the individual receives.  The fifth and sixth days of creation have a total of 206-words, which is the numerical value of the skeletal system of man. 

The 22-letters allows the neophyte who has had the revelation to put clothing and body to the skeleton system.

This is just one of the many interpretation as to why Astrology and the Tarot Cards.  There are others.

Collectively 21 + 207 + 206 = 434 or the Gematria value of Daleth: the fourth letter of the Hebrew Alphabet: symbolically the DOOR.

The deck I illustrated has corresponding hebrew letters with the majors but I don't know if the author used the bible to assign them... Even if the Bible isn´t one book at all, but about 66 Books written from many different Writers. I ´d like to recommend you the very Interesting Essays written by Daniel L. in the Discussions called Understanding the Book of lamentations through the lens of Tarot. It provides you with a lot of Material to work with and gives you at least one approach to this Issue.

As you can use the Tarot also for Traveling on the so called Astralplan i think the whole Tarot is a DOOR ( the Pictures AND the hebrew letters can be well used to do so)to understands how things are or at least the funktions of the tree of Life.

If you do this you can also understand why Frater Achad didn´t restore the tree of Life (in my point of View) in his Q.B.L. The Bridge Reception you find in the First Chapter a explaination of the 10 Sephiroth as usually and also in the second chapter an explaination on the hebrew letters as usually. Also his connection between the Zodiaksigns and the Hebrewletter are as usual.  But to make a BIG story Short, he did some major change on the Pathways between the sephirots and if you say the shinbones belongs on the place of the Collarbone then He surly did restore the tree of Life. But it don´t so he made some major mistakes in changing the pathways.If you really study the Ideas of Fra. Achad you can understand his conclusion but it didn´t make them right. You have to understand the reason WHY the pathway on the tree of Life like they are. The tarot give you a good Idea for understanding that.If you don´t belief me try to answer for yourself the Question by using the tarot    

WHY IS TZADDY NOT THE STAR?

If you find the answer try to use the same methode for fra. Achad and you find the answers why he is wrong on your own.

I am simply the illustrator and an amateur tarot reader, but I am confused by your statement of "WHY IS TZADDY NOT THE STAR?"... In our deck it is. The Phrase Tzaddy is not the star is from the liber Al vel legis  and the meaning is the change of the HE  from the Emperor  with the tzaddy from the Star if you look on the Crowley deck you´ll see that he changed those Letters now is the Question why he did it and is this change reasonable. As Fra. achad was a Student from A.C. ( he thought of him as his magical son) it is importent to understand why ACHAD Changed the Attributes of the tree of life and why his teacher refused those change. today they are many Believer in those Change as in the statement of Achad that we ´re goint in the Aeon of MAAT wich is the next aeon following the aeon of Horus. However the Quality of hebrew letter Tzaddy doesn´t fit with the qualitiys of Aquarius which rule the Tarotcard called the star.

The Problem here is that 1) Achad went crazy later on 2) Even if Crowley was on the personal level a Egomanic he was the Genius and his conclusion why those Changes are wrong are reasonable. Achad than left the Order and were estranged with Crowley.( Years later he Achad call upon crowley to come back, but as it was to late he quote that Crowley don´t understand his "briliance and find some reasons to make his statements plausible. it is an interesting approach from achad but i for myself not yet ready to see or accept his point of view on the tarot. But maybe time will change my understanding who nows;-)
