How can Magick change ourselves? Is it a matter of making ourselves 'perfect'...or is it a matter of removing that which blocks us from our Perfection?
Hi Nathan..thankyou for your reply. It's an interesting comment for the simple fact that its places the emphasis for change upon oneself rather than others and/or external environment. As for the spelling...this quote (and the spelling) was taken directly from Lon Milo Duquette's website..he is a most well respected author that often frequents this site...so you might like to take up this issue with him. For me personally i must admit i have never considered the possibility that changing the spelling of a word could negatively impact upon my ability to grow spiritually....There is a wonderful book written by Melvyn Bragg about the history of the English language (cannot remember the name off hand...but it shows in quite a magnificent way the overall development of the english language and far from being a static phenonema ...it has continued to grow and transform itself..almost in an organic way...and it is this very process that has resulted in the wonderful language that we have today....)...On the other hand...a dogmatic adherance to any authority figure (i.e. your unquestioning acceptance of the 'fact' that Tony Le Vay is right in this issue...)...has always been, and will always continue to be...the beginning of the end of any individual spiritual growth...as well as the death knell of all religions/groups/societies....not to mention the fact that it has led to the growth of cults.....Rudolf Steiner said that this would be the great 'evil' of our times....the inability to really question what 'authority' is saying to us...and it will lead to all manner of ills.....

thankyou for your response and blessings for the future

Hi Daniel...great (and enlightening) response...thankyou! i have been reading alot about alchemy of late and its emphasis upon self transformation in an environment of humility is definately a very powerful path (and thank God that this was kept alive in the long dark centuries of one dimensional exoteric christianity....)....the ultimate goal..the Philosophers Stone...the awakening to Higher Consciousness....is the only path there is..and we are all on it whether we know it or not...your response exudes both wisdom/knowledge as well as compassion/humility..........THANKYOU!!
lol..yes i had noticed before i wrote my reply that they were friends...but sometimes its good if a bit of 'attitude' comes in both directions...thanks once again!
Bright the Havens! :-)
Well I am starting to see that by changing myself then maybe I start to change my external world as well because we are all connected "As above so below".... I could be wrong though. I don't understand magic but I know what I Be influences my environment if even just a little. What Seal to use to open the doors of wisdom for me that I may see? Will the Middle Pillar exercise help? I never done it before?
When one has peeked behind the vail so to speak, one changes there thoughts on how the world seems to function.and in magick it has been the self understanding of how your mind realy works. For your mind is a whore and a lier. But Im assuming too much maybe. But the quote in my personal understanding of it is correct. The quote needs to be understood on a personal level and experienced , IN order too draw understanding.
