We hear a lot on this network about getting rid of the ego, 'ego death' and so forth, but I find myself wondering what exactly is the meaning being ascribed to this term. Perhaps we each have different meanings and usages for this term, so I would welcome a discussion to clarify this.
Ok Divah... "Only She, She, She!!" Who would you attribute this God or Goddess with in other placements. These are all the same forces. Some have taken them to more finite degrees but the same essence in all. It would be really helpful if you could brake these gods and goddesses down into groups like Egyptian, Christian, and others..... . Force is force and that is that. We have learned to give them names and images. Then people say YOU ARE WRONG THATS NOT ITS NAME>>..... That is what has helped separate nations. In fact you seem pretty good at knowing this stuff. This would make a wonderful book. To take all the god forms from one train of thought and mix them up with the others.... I would buy it. :)
I saw this posted on a Twitter blog on the sidebar recently.
The 'I am' is certain. The 'I am this' is not.
Yeah that's really good. Also Daniel's comment
>Pride is the nearest approximation to what is meant by EGO
absolutely.
But when you say Deva
> The "myself" (the ego) will never see it necessary to dissolve it's identity.
you are rewriting incorrectly what I said and are missing the whole point that there is identity beyond the ego. Else what is the singularity of perceptual consciousness?
I think you conflate consciousness as ego, and steadfastly resist that the focus of perception is eternal, to think that you can dissolve that is the illusion of non existence. Please don't project your misunderstanding of what you think I am saying onto me because I am not saying what you imagine.
