Police corruption hits home
My family to some degree has apparently become the victims of small scale local police corruption.
Some time ago my parents decided to have some work done on their house. They got several quotes and eventually decided upon a contractor who will remain nameless. This contractor ended up cutting lots of corners that shouldn't be cut and basically screwed them over at every possible turn.
They eventually figured out what was going on and fired him. A lawsuit was filed for losses and damage etc. and obviously the contractor wasn't very happy with them nor they with the contractor.
The case has been going on for some time now and the contractor has tried to pull every dirty trick in the book to get out of paying for what they knowingly did wrong.
The most recent of these includes my Father's name being in the police report of the local newspaper stating that he was arrested for "Criminal Harassment". The problem with that is that he was about three hours away at a business meeting at the time that the paper claimed he was arrested and can prove it. It is also important to note that the afore mentioned contractor's wife works at the town hall and the contractor himself is friends with several of the local police. Several months before this incident the contractor also tried to bring my father up on charges for stalking him because he was doing construction on the building my father works in.

NWO in action. I have also had MANY bad experiences with contractors I've hired to work on my house. I was successful in court against one of them that stole $3000 of my money. I had to drop the claim down to $2000 though for the small claims cap. If I went to superior court, it would've cost me money out of pocket on a lawyer which would've ended up being close to a grand anyway.
I won and the court ordered him to pay me $100/mo until it was paid off, he agreed and all went smoothly. He of course never paid me anything and I told the courts and they put out a capias warrant out for him. Basically they wouldn't look for him but if he were arreted that would show up, I have to bare responsibility to locate this person and call the police to get him for the warrant. After 1 year, the warrant expires and u have to pay to renew it. It's a total bs system that allows criminals to run wild. Even if u win hands down in court, it doesn't mean u will ever see a dime of it.
Never pay a contractor all the money until the work is completely done and checked. The courts won't back up the law and there's so many slippery slopes u can get into by saying or doing the wrong things out of frustration and anger. The entire legal system needs to be revamped to PROTECT the victims.

Have you approached the "NEWS" paper to print a retraction?
Since it is local you could even do flyers explaining what is going on - but who know is that would end up with a liable suit.
I REALLY HATE it when the little guy gets SCREWED over - I HATE IT!!!!!!
